Job Description


We are seeking someone with passion and enthusiasm to join our client’s customer sales department in South Petherton, Somerset. You will be working within a busy existing team of 3 and you will be required to provide unrivalled customer service through an excellent standard of telephone, face-to–face and electronic communication with new and existing customers along with advising the best product solutions and providing accurate quoting and sales administration.

Being established for over 20 years they have a large customer base, built on providing the highest levels of services, quality products and delivering on their promises. Experts in their field, they are looking for someone who fits their company ethos and able to provide a quality services and build, maintain long lasting relationships with staff, customers and suppliers.

  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner, taking messages and redirecting and progressing calls as necessary
  • Accurately and efficiently handle customer enquiries, negotiate prices, generate and follow-up quotations in view of winning sales and processing enquiries into orders
  • Professionally handle customer queries and complaints, and resolve any issues in line with personal level of responsibility
  • Advise customers on Hewins’ products and services
  • Take part in daily telesales routine/campaigns to develop customer relations and grow sales
  • Serve customers at the trade counter and handle their enquiries accordingly
  • Occasional visits customers as required
  • Assist with any other reasonable tasks as required

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Fluent English language spoken
  • Good telephone & face to face interaction
  • Interpersonal skills – the ability to work well in a team - you will need to draw on all areas of the company to be successful (Purchasing, Production, Finance to mention a few)
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative
  • Excellent product and market knowledge (preferred) - each enquiry is different and requires a resourceful and sensible approach to align our abilities to supply the goods with the expectations of the customer*
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Working knowledge of IT programs
  • Practical and logical; the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately
  • High level of professionalism – some experiences in Sales are frustrating and some are enjoyable. You will need to be able to handle a variety of different situations and customer types
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to perform well in a time-pressured environment
  • Strong literacy & numeracy skills
  • Previous experience of working in a Sales / Customer Service role or similar (preferred)*
