Job Description

We are seeking a Professional Production Planner to work for a period of 3-6 months for a global manufacturing company in Crewkerne

You would be responsible for developing and managing production schedules across Value Streams in line with customer demand requirements, with supervision from the Lead Planner. Working with each Value stream you will facilitate work planning, optimise use of resources, materials and time in order to achieve customer on time delivery.

The role would involve: 

• Being the first point of contact for customer service, keeping up to date with any changes in production schedule that will impact delivery time

• Provide cover as required for other members of staff to ensure continuity of service

• Actively participate in Value Stream High Performance teams to improve performance - by applying continuous improvement methods

• Developing and maintaining a PFEP database in order to set and maintain inventory

• Raising orders and work with suppliers to ensure they process items in line with production plan

• Ensuring all replenishment strategies are right sized for demand

• Apply visual management practices for effective communication, planning and execution of production plan

• Attend daily production meetings, to ensure adherence to the production schedule

• Work closely with Supply Chain to optimise the supplier demand balance

• Provide a forward view of potential risks to the scheduled plan and work with departments for resolutions

• Create, update and maintain required planning reports, forecasts and performance metrics

Skills:

• IT Literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and MRP/ERP systems

• Well organised with logical and methodical thinking

• Effective negotiating skills

• Project management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working hours to be agreed, but likely to be 07.00 - 15.45 / 11am finish Friday or 08.00 - 16.45 / 12pm finish friday:

 (flexibility available on start & finish time +/- 30 minutes)

• Basic hourly  rate - £15.00ph / £16.00ph DOE
